Broad bracelet from the North African coast near Marsa Matruh, Egypt.
Hand engraved and punch stamped with astral and vegetal motifs typical of Berber iconography, but frequently seen among Bedouin people of the North African coast and as far as inland as Siwa.
Case and riveted elements have been added to each side and to the central panel. Usually worn in pairs. Early 20th century.   |
